What patients say on Google

“I was very hopeful when I began medical care at Atkinson but unfortunately was very disappointed in the care I received. On several different occasions interacting/communicating with reception was relatively difficult. They did not know how to run a card that I wanted to use for my copay which made it relatively difficult for me to pay my bill. They also communicated inaccurate appointment times to me which resulted in me going to the office at the wrong time. The provider I was seeing also was relatively difficult to communicate with. I would send virtual messages to my provider regarding medical questions/concerns and would never receive a response back. When I would call the office to follow up with the messages, I was told that the receptionist could see that my provider read my messages and chose not to respond to them. When I was able to communicate with my provider, they would blatantly ignore concerns I brought up in appointments and would test me for conditions that I did not have any symptoms of. The practice also pushes appointments/testing that I did not agree were necessary at all. Overall, very dissatisfied with this practice.”

“I came here after being with a practice that was absolutely horrible who took advice of others over being a doctor. At AFP my doctor has went over and beyond helping me with all the needs I've been needing. My doctor Dr. Mark Ryan is a very laid back, down to earth, east to talk to and wonderful doctor. He went out on paternity leave so Dr Corey was my step in doctor til he came back. Dr. Corey has also been very wonderful, down to earth, sweet and easy to talk to doctor. I'm very pleased to have found AFP as my primary doctors and very happy with them. Even the receptionists are all very nice and helpful. I don't have anything bad to say about this practice. I would encourage anyone to go here.”

“I am beyond disappointed with my experience trying to establish care at this office. When I first contacted the office, both the website and staff told me it would take approximately two weeks to process a new patient application and get back to me. I submitted my application and waited patiently. After four weeks with no communication, I called to check on the status. I was told they had received my application, but it would be another three weeks before someone contacted me to schedule an appointment. Three more weeks passed with no call. During that time, my phone number changed, so I contacted the office again to provide my updated number and see if I could finally schedule an appointment. To my surprise, I was told that after two months of waiting, I still didn’t have a file created in their system. Even worse, because my phone number had changed, I was told I would have to submit an entirely new patient application and start the process all over again. When I asked why they couldn’t simply update my phone number and continue processing the application they had already received, I was given no reasonable explanation. The receptionist was dismissive, rude, and essentially told me she didn’t know what to tell me and couldn’t help me. At that point, it became clear that I was never going to establish care here. After two months of delays, conflicting information, poor communication, and unhelpful staff, I felt completely strung along. After reading other reviews, I’m actually relieved that I chose to take my healthcare elsewhere. If this is how they treat prospective patients, I can only imagine how difficult it would be to deal with them as an established patient.”

“I have been a patient of AFP for many years now, and I don't have enough good things to say about them. Not only are the doctors professional, respectful, knowledgeable, but all the support staff are simply fantastic! In addition, Dr. Atkinson has been a tireless and stalwart advocate for access to affordable, quality health care in Massachusetts.”
