How likely are you to recommend Holyoke Medical Center OB/GYN & Midwifery?
“Horrible service horrible people , everyone has a bad miserable attitude. Nurses and doctors sound so miserable not happy with the job they are doing. I’m pregnant and I feel like they don’t care about me or my baby they haven’t gave me an appointment didn’t even offer prenatal vitamins. I hate this clinic. Looking for a new place for me and my baby. I will be calling DPH and reporting this place for denying care to me and my baby.”
“have been trying for over a week to reach this office after about 30 phone calls and many voice mails. No reply and i was disappointed but on Feb 3 i tried calling again and i was lucky enough to get Myra to answer the phone, she had to check availability for me and said she would call me the next day, and she did. she is a great asset and keeps her word and puts patients first. Extremely professional and she is the one who kept me from switching OBGYN’s after going here for over 30 years. thank you Myra, I owe you that coffee 😉”
“My 5 stars is for Dr Zerbe and Sonja. The receptionist I dealt with and one of the nurses gets -1 I have been a patient at Western Mass OBGYN for 30 plus years. I was told due to my age (65) that I would no longer be getting Pap smears, but Mary, who I adore told me if I ever had a problem to call and I would be seen. For over a week I have been in intense pain in my pelvic area so bad I was doubled over in pain. I called to make an appointment and a nurse called me back and told me the office no longer deals with either a yeast infection or UTI and I needed to go to my primary. I did and she did nothing stating I needed to see my gynecologist so I called back and the receptionist told me I cannot be seen. On May 1st I called after hours so I knew I would actually get to speak to a doctor as the office treated me terrible. Dr Zerbe called me right away and I explained my situation and he stated I needed to be examined and he would see me the following day and his nurse would call me back in the morning. He stated if the pain worsened to go to the ER. The pain was bad so I did and I got my diagnosis and was given meds.(UTI) But Dr Zerbe kept his word and Sonja called me at 7:50 am to check on me and to say Dr Zerbe would see me. I explained I did go to the ER to her and she was awesome and told me if I needed to be seen if the pain didn’t subside to call her. I am very impressed the doctor kept his word to me. And now I know that if I have any future issues I will call Sonja directly. So thank you Dr Zerbe and Sonja for treating me with respect unlike the heartless other staff members I spoke to. The office needs to be aware that if a woman, no matter what age should be seen if she is having an issue. Seems like the office staff could care less unless you are pregnant which is sad after being a patient for 30 years. So thank you Dr Zerbe and Sonja for your professionalism C Davies”
“This review is based on Marc J Zerbe, MD. Everyone else there has been great, including the woman at checking. Pardon me for putting my business out there but I have to address it, and in order for anybody to understand this review, well I have to get a bit personal. Mind you I've never even met the man personally. I was interested in getting a mirena to help with heavy periods and Mary O'Brien, Cnm was lovely and explained my options. I went home and had some time to decide what I would like and what works best for me. My IUD insertion was scheduled. I voiced my concerns of severe anxiety regarding getting an IUD because I had a bad experience with a previous IUD, which moved, and upon removal snapped in half and was it came out I was in severe pain. Not to mention when it moved it gave me contractions like pains. The other half proceeded to get lost inside of me for a long time. Mary O'Brien seemed very understanding on my anxiety. Well, she has been out sick and Marc J Zerbe, MD has been taking her messages and what not. Well he refuses to prescribe me a medication for anxiety in order for me to be able to be able to get the IUD inserted. The lack of sympathy for women's healthcare and genuine concerns on behalf of this man is sickening. I will continue to have this issue until I can get seen by a compassionate and understanding doctor elsewhere. And I hate to sound sexist but Marc J Zerbe, MD has no business in women's healthcare if he cannot take something as serious as severe anxiety serious in order for me or anybody to receive the healthcare they need and deserve. I will be filing a complaint against Marc J Zerbe, MD”
