What patients say on Google
“This was my very first visit to Harrington. It was a very nice little hospital. The staff was terrific! The rooms and hallways were very clean and attractive. It was a pleasure to visit there.”
“Where do I begin without writing a novel. This is the MOST incompetent hospital I have ever been to. Emergency blood work needed to be done. They waited 3 hours to start the blood work, my husband sat there with a needle in his arm for blood drawn for 3 hours maybe longer. You’d think with his symptoms they’d put it to use and could’ve given him an IV while he sat for almost 6 hours, because he has barely been able to eat or do anything for 4 days. The bed side manners, the common sense, the sense of urgency, the critical thinking is all out the door with this place. I spoke to the front desk lady, and she asked if I wanted a nurse to come talk to me, I said “yes.” Never talked to a nurse. . .I asked to be brought back to see my husband after 6 hours, “we’ll have public safety take you back.” Waited there for 20 min, listening to public safety have a conversation about one of them recently pooping their pants (can’t make this up). So I went back up to the desk and said am I asking them to bring me in or? Yes, I was supposed to ask them to take me back apparently? Doctor never prescribed something he said he was going to (didn’t find that out till we got home). I also asked that what we came in concerned about to be added to the report since they were big on telling us it’s so rare that it’s unlikely (unlikely does not mean impossible). I get this response, “well, we can’t like lie and say that he doesn’t have the virus.” Right, but what you can do, is put what we came for and our concerns. Because now we’re home with absolutely no answers, and a possible deadly virus. I wanted it in the report incase anything happens to him. Why wouldn’t you put the patients initial concern and why they came IN THE REPORT. Just wow, and these people are in the business of saving lives? Advocate for yourself people, especially at this hospital or do yourself and favor and DO NOT GO. Not worth it if it’s closer to you, go to UMASS or anywhere else. Also, do y’all over at Harrington even read your reviews? Like you have so many terrible and ACCURATE reviews. Do you just see another one and go “eh, we’re so used to it, it doesn’t matter.” Because I can assure you, the patients are clearly not the problem here. DO BETTER.”
“4 years ago I had a tough experience here, left a bad review, but I realized it wasn't the hospital. It was what was going on in my life at the time. So when I was transferred here this week for emergent gallbladder infection and surgery, I was apprehensive. However, I was met with a very professional, clean, caring, and empathetic group of nurses and doctors. Dr. Johnson is exceptionally personable. I was scared and he set my mind at ease. A few nurses stood out too if course, but especially Brendan on the 3rd floor. He's not just an awesome nurse, he's an awesome person and I hope someone recognizes him for it. It's been a very difficult few days, and after discharge I had some anesthesia side effects that landed me back at their ER that night. I was met again with the professional and empathetic care, treated appropriately and released so I could finally start recovering at home comfortably. I'm really grateful to this hospital and their staff.”
“My father was dealing with some pretty serious health issues with no real explanation. His team got to the bottom of the problem, not only found out the source of the problem but gave him a safe and correct solution. Facilities are clean, staff are all incredibly nice and helpful. Comfortable experience, I knew he was in good hands.”
